Easton Murray, a senior Agricultural Engineering student, has accepted a full time summer 2016 internship with John Deere Corporate in Waterloo, Iowa. Professor Doug Hammond, Chair of Ag Eng said: “Easton is the first of our SUNY Cobleskill students to be hired for such a prestigious internship opportunity by John Deere at their corporate level.”
Before being offered the Technical Marketing position, Easton participated in two extensive interviews. The internship will allow Easton the opportunity to provide dealer support at the local and regional levels as well as the chance to work as a member of the Technical Marketing team at the corporate office location. She will be assisting with innovative new product development as part of her internship responsibilities.
“My three years [she is graduating with a Bachelor degree in three years instead of four] of hard work at SUNY Cobleskill paid off in helping me achieve my goal of interning at a corporate level with one of the largest and most prestigious companies in the industry. I am very excited to be working with a team to utilize my knowledge and skills within the agricultural engineering field.
Easton further commented that she is focused on working to the best of her ability, with the hope that she will bring value as an intern and that this experience will lead to a full time position with John Deere at the corporate level.
Lisa Lopez, Associate Director of Student Success praised Easton’s determination, “I believe Easton’s initiative and hard work helped her achieve this goal. She has never been afraid of taking a risk. Once she set this worthy goal she worked hard academically and effectively utilized our college’s resources to help her build professional skills which I believe ultimately led to the decision by John Deere Corporate to offer her this excellent internship opportunity.”
