Living on campus there are three options for weekly meal plans, 14 meals a week, 17 meals a week and unlimited at Champlain with 10 swipes everywhere else. Each are priced higher than the last accordingly. So no one wants to over pay. People who go home on the weekend usually get either the 14 or the 17 because that is plenty divided over only 5 days. People who are here seven days a week really need to do the math though.
14 swipes a week gives you on average two swipes a day, unless you are used to that style of eating not many people I know have that plan.
17 gives you 2 swipes a day and 3 days you have an extra swipe. This allows you to spread out the meals more. This allows you the most meal swipes with the most flexibility.
The Unlimited plan is good as well because you can eat whenever you want, how much you want at Champlain. And if you want to go somewhere else you still have that flexibility. I know some residents did not get a fridge and got the unlimited plan so they can go get food whenever they want anyways and they already paid for that food.
Which meal plan is best for you is a very personally decision, but there are some things to consider when deciding. Also realize with Champlin serving brunch on the weekends most students only swipe twice on Saturday and Sunday.2014-03-10
