As the first couple of weeks come to an end a routine starts to form. Homework has started to be assigned and you get a real grip of what your semester will look like. One thing that also becomes routine is where you sit in class. Most professors do not assign seats. I have had a few that made seating charts from seats that the students picked just to learn names faster and take attendance faster.
Picking a seat in the first couple of weeks though, if the professor makes a seating chart or not, is usually where you sit for the semester. Each room is different and each professor is different.
By the time you get through high school people usually have a preference of sitting locations. I for one prefer more towards the middle of the room in the isle, and towards the front of the room as a whole, not in the front just towards the front. I do know that does not work for everyone. I also prefer is there is a choice in the room tables over desks. I find them more comfortable, I know some people find them more distracting.
One big thing is I actual recommend sitting near friends, sometimes that helps with questions and explaining.
The biggest thing to realize with seats is that even if there is no written down seating chart there is an unspoken one and after about the second week, where you sit is your seat for the semester.2014-02-03
